Runners who complete this weekend's SIG Insulations Sheffield Half Marathon will be rewarded with one month's free membership for Fitness Unlimited.

A record 7,200 people have entered the 13.1 mile race on Sunday, 27 May, and those who cross the finish line at Don Valley Stadium will receive the special offer.

Fitness Unlimited, part of Sheffield International Venues, is the biggest health and fitness scheme in South Yorkshire with over 17,000 members.

It offers access to eight gyms and nine swimming pools at Don Valley, Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, the English Institute of Sport - Sheffield, Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Concord Sports Centre, Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre, Springs Leisure Centre, Stocksbridge Leisure Centre and Heeley Swimming Pool.

Melinda Schofield from Fitness Unlimited, said: "Completing the Sheffield Half Marathon is an incredible achievement and this is our way of congratulating all the runners. Not only will they have put in hours of training in preparation for the race, but, by taking, part they are also raising money for many good causes in the city."

Sheffield Half Marathon entrants can redeem the offer by bringing their race number to a Fitness Unlimited venue during June.
