The Frenchgate shopping centre continued its 12 Good Deeds
campaign in March with their second good deed of the year.
Frenchgate originally contacted Denise Dunn, founder of The Fire
Fly Club which is a cancer awareness and support foundation to give
a makeover to two people.
In between the organisation of putting the 'good deed' together,
Frenchgate were contacted by Denise's daughter to say that Denise
had been sadly diagnosed with breast cancer for the third time.
After hearing the news Frenchgate decided to offer the makeover to
Denise and her Friend Ann Johnson, also previously diagnosed with
cancer. Their close friendship was formed back in 1997 when Denise
and Ann were both having treatment around the same time.
The makeover started with a trip to Toni & Guy for Ann's
hair appointment, which unfortunately Denise couldn't partake due
to her chemotherapy. It was then off to The Original Lash and Nail
Bar for both Ann and Denise to have their nails and lashes treated.
The last port of call for the makeover was to visit Debenhams for a
makeup session courtesy of Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.
The Doncaster shopping centres good deed didn't stop at the
treatments, they presented Denise and Ann with a whole host of
goodies, including a hamper of health and beauty products kindly
donated by Wilkinsons, foot spa's from Clas Ohlson and beauty bags
from Lush.
Both Denise and Ann were overjoyed with the lovely surprise "We
would like to thank everyone concerned for our pampering day in the
Frenchgate Centre. It was an absolute joy being treated and
pampered, especially with it being the Mothers Day weekend" said
Ann.
"Thank you to everyone who donated the gifts to us, they were a
huge surprise and it was a very generous gesture. We all went onto
lunch afterwards and had such a lovely day" Denise concluded.
