Reaping the rewards of the 1925 Club

One of the most well known businesses in South Yorkshire has joined Rotherham United’s new corporate hospitality club.

Family owned Norton Finance has become a Gold member of the Millers’ 1925 Club at the New York Stadium, which will provide luxury match day treatment for local businessmen.

Director Keith Stringer, who founded the firm in 1974 and has lived in the town all his life, said: “The 1925 Club will provide us with a facility to entertain our business partners, and our employees will also be rewarded for their hard work with the opportunity to use our tickets.

“The New York Stadium looks excellent and it will attract a lot of people, both for football and its offerings to the business community. Rotherham United are moving forward and we wanted to become a part of the club’s future success.”

Norton Finance, based in Mansfield Road, Rotherham, employs around 250 people and is one of the UK’s longest established independent finance brokers.

The 1925 Club is named in honour of the Millers’ inaugural season as Rotherham United, after the merger of Rotherham Town and Rotherham County, when the team played in a gold and black strip.

Rotherham United chairman Tony Stewart said: “As a family club we are delighted that a family owned company like Norton Finance has got on board. The local community is really behind the New York Stadium and businesses in Rotherham continue to show tremendous interest in the 1925 Club.”
