Yorkshire gym operator, Xercise4less, has chosen Doncaster as the home of its fifth site, bringing the first low cost gym to the town, in a prime 32,500 sqft location situated in the old John Peter's store.

Work has now commenced on the creation of the new gym space at York Road, which is set to open in May. Expected to generate over 60 new jobs, the Doncaster site will be the largest dry fitness facility in the area and boasts the largest free weights space in the region.

The new gym will host over 40 free classes a week free for members, ranging from Zumba to Spin, to Boxercise as well as providing full boxing facilities, which includes a 16ft boxing ring, all included within membership.

With over 400 pieces of state of the art equipment, the gym is to be 'zoned' for different activities such as cardio, weights, a combat zone, women's only area and there are additional areas for personal training sessions and spin classes.

Starting to be recognised as 'the people's gym' in other locations such as Leeds and Castleford, Xercise4less is keen to offer something for everyone.

The fifth of the gym chain to open in the UK after success in Wakefield, Castleford, Stockton-On-Tees and Leeds, the team are excited about their expansion into Doncaster.

Xercise4Less M.D Jon Wright said: "Our existing gyms are experiencing great success as people are enjoying the flexibility of our membership and the wide range of activities available to them for a very low cost monthly fee.

"We're now working on a roll out plan to supply the increasing customer demand for budget gym's across the country and are delighted that Doncaster is to be one of our new homes".

"Our model is based on charging as little as possible, not as much as we can get away with. We are truly revolutionising the industry. In these times of austerity, we feel we are providing an excellent facility with unbeatable customer service, all at a very affordable price."
