Doncaster College has joined forces with 'People 1st' to launch an exciting new training programme which prepares people looking for their first job in the vibrant Hospitality industry.

Called the 'Employment 1st programme' and supported by City & Guilds, it covers 13 job roles, including; Chef, Barrister, Travel Agent and Conference/ Exhibition Manager. The course then leads to a nationally recognised qualification, the Level 1 Award in Introduction to Employment in the Hospitality Industry.

People 1st is the sector skills council for Hospitality, Passenger Transport, Travel and Tourism.

The programme was launched in the Waterfront Restaurant at Doncaster College's Hub campus recently, with around 15 starters signing up for the course straight away.

Simon Kitto from People 1st said;

"We are really pleased to be working with Doncaster College on the Employment 1st Programme.

"It's great to see the students here, the first bunch of delegates through the programme. I hope this is the first step to get them on the way to a fulfilling career in hospitality. Good luck to everybody on the programme."
