The Knights may have a full compliment of pre-season fixtures to
put Brett Davey's new-look side to the test before the 2012/13
Championship season gets underway, but the most recently arranged
match will gauge a very different set of their skills.
Doncaster Rugby will take on Doncaster Town Cricket Club in a
Twenty20 game at the club's Town Fields ground on Thursday,
August 16th (5pm start).
Doncaster Town CC play in the ECB Yorkshire Premier League and
will be testing the Knights sporting versatility in the shortened
form of the game. The bar will be open from 5pm and weather
permitting a BBQ will be laid on for supporters.
Cricket may not be the first choice sport here at Castle Park,
but there is a fair bit of hidden cricketing talent lurking within
the Knights ranks; the foremost of which is James Tincknell who
will captain the side on the evening.
23-year-old Tincknell represented the Yorkshire, Durham and
Cumbria junior set-ups, before spells with Durham second XI,
Marylebone CC and Buckinghamshire. In 2008 he even made a fleeting
appearance as 12th man for England at Lords against South Africa
before electing to turn his attentions to rugby.
Other Knights who have alleged capabilities on the cricket field
are Head Coach Glen Kenworthy and young scrum-half James Munro who
have both previously played at a competitive standard, as well as
all-rounder Dante Mama.
So don't miss out on your chance to catch the Knights in action
against their cricket counterparts on Thursday August 16 at
Town Fields; and even better it's FREE ENTRY! Visit
