Mayor Peter Davis joined in with the celebration by cutting the ribbon at the opening of Fitness Flex health and fitness suite recently. He was accompanied by B P L `s Chief Executive Tim Wilson to launch its first Leisure facility in Doncaster.

Fitness Flex is an 11,000 square ft facility containing over 100 brand new state-of-the-art fitness stations, many with individual Digital TV stations and MP3 connections. The air conditioned fitness suite has the latest in cardiovascular and resistance equipment, luxury changing facilities and disabled access. The studios, having windows looking out onto the Cathedral, host a number of group exercise classes for people to enjoy.

Fitness Flex has already brought a number of jobs to the Doncaster area with around 20 people offered positions with the Leisure Operator, BPL. Peter Davies was invited to cut the ribbon for the opening and was presented with a plaque that will be showcased near the reception desk at Fitness Flex. Mr Davies was then shown around the venue to see the facilities and even sampled some of the equipment.

"BPL has succeeded in creating a wonderful leisure facility for the Doncaster public. I was extremely pleased with all the facilities and the standard and variety of equipment was equally impressive.

"The team at Fitness Flex and BPL have obviously worked hard to get the health and fitness suite looking like it does and I truly hope the investment pays off" said Peter Davies.

Although new into the Doncaster centre area, BPL has 12 years experience in the leisure and fitness industry employing around 800 staff. BPL has an impressive portfolio packed full of leisure facilities including the Barnsley Metrodome Leisure Complex.

BPL operates leisure centres within Worksop, Retford and Bircotes. Their portfolio also reaches out to several golf clubs in South Yorkshire and North Nottingham as well as managing the Town halls in both Retford and Worksop.
