Students from Doncaster College and other colleges across the
region have been involved with a new advertisement campaign to
promote Further Education.
'Your future in the Mix' is an inspiring music video and song
performed by students and filmed at colleges in the Yorkshire area,
such as York College and Leeds City College.
A video crew from Global Radio, the company that took over
Galaxy Radio and now runs Capital FM, filmed students singing the
lyrics to the song, especially written to try to encourage more
young people to go to college.
A group of about twenty-five performing arts students from
Doncaster College danced and sang on the mezzanine on the third
floor of the Hub, in the Learning Resource Centre and Hair Salon,
and outside in front of the College.
The video, which is an exciting visual montage of multi-screen
images, was created to try to tackle increasing youth unemployment
by getting young people back into education to increase their
chances of getting a career. A lot of students rethink their
options about further education this time of year, and it is the
aim of the video to try to get them to think about what they could
get out of going to college.
A 'Your Future in the Mix' website has been set up and is a
great central resource for young people to access information about
college life and find out more about opportunities at college.
