Fake Festivals Scheduled for Summer

2012 sees the Fake Festival Tour visiting South Yorkshire once again...

If the thought of travelling hundreds of miles this year to get your festival fix leaves you feeling a little flat, then it might be worth knowing that you can catch some internationally acclaimed bands right on your doorstep - minus the over-inflated ticket prices.

Thanks to the Fake Festival Tour visiting Yorkshire again this May 19th, you'll be able to watch tributes to Coldplay, Kasabian and Green Day right on your doorstep, as well as some of the best emerging local musical talent.

Taking place at Sandall Park, Doncaster in the Fake Festivals marquee, this community led event will play host to some of the finest tribute acts in the world, giving people the ultimate festival feeling, just without the beer and brolly juggling.

Headlining act Coldplace from Grimsby, have been on the gig circuit not only in the UK, but also world-wide, for seven years firmly establishing themselves as one of the best tributes in the world.

In addition to hosting internationally acclaimed tribute bands, Sandall Park Fake Festival will also be showcasing some of the most exciting artists in the region tipped to be the stars of tomorrow, thanks to the five local support band slots they offer. Performing this year are:

'Goodfellas', a Doncaster based four piece covers band who've been playing to local audiences for many years. Performing a set list including rock and indie anthems such asBorn To Be WildandBuck Rogers,they're a truly great warm up act for the main tribute bands.

'The 48K's' are a serious up and coming original five piece band from Doncaster. With high profile gigs already under their belt and a set list of original material so catchy you'll assume you've heard it before, their performance at Fake Festivals will be sure to impress you.

"Fake Festivals is the perfect platform for unsigned artists to showcase their talent in front of a friendly local crowd," says Jez Lee, organiser of Fake Festivals. "They get to perform on a main stage with a state of the art sound and lighting system -something not a lot of unsigned artists ever get the opportunity to do."

"We know just how difficult it is to break into the music industry nowadays and so we're keen to help local artists get some exposure. Plus, you never know who'll turn up on our tour -we've had a professional from the music industry come along to check out unsigned artists and even the news editor of NME!"

Sandall Park Fake Festival's line-up this year includes Coldplace, Kazabian and Basketcase (Green Day tribute).
